The lawyer who helped British prisoners of Guantanamo given human rights award is none other than Ravi Naik. The lead counsel who saw a case in the year 2009 to release a Briton at Guantanamo in Cuba. He summed up as an activist for human rights and earned him that accolade.
Ravi Naik was not a known person. He rose to the spotlight during the case concerning a British citizen back in the early days. A lot can be said about an energetic man determined to bring change. In 2006 Ravi graduated from UWE and majored totally in organizations that championed for human rights.
He later on, in the year 2009, took part in the release of a prisoner Binyam Mohamed from Guantanamo prison. Ravi describes technology as a tool for the determinant and protection of the people’s data and not to misuse it. Throughout his childhood, Ravi was made to be a lawyer. His passion and zeal make him a different individual among his equals. Ravi acknowledges the fact that he never expected to win the recognition but it is a fantastic thing after all. He further defines that by using the law one changes the dynamics of people.
